Last night, five candidates for the position of Fire Chief participated in a virtual question-and-answer session to discuss their plans for the Rockford Fire Department. The event provided an opportunity for community members to hear directly from each candidate about their vision and priorities. The City of Rockford has also announced that residents will have another opportunity to meet the finalists in person. This event is scheduled for Monday, October 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kresge Hall, located in the Riverfront Museum Park at 711 N. Main Street.
These public forums are part of the city's ongoing efforts to involve residents in the selection process for this key leadership role within the fire department.
