Unpaid fines for Belvidere-based campaign committee totaled $26,875 in January 2017

One campaign committee in Belvidere has overdue fines amounting to a total of $26,875, records obtained by the Rockford Sun show.

A detailed review of individual fines revealed that Boone County Young Republicans Club was the only campaign committee in Belvidere that was delinquent in payment for January 2017, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

The committee has been fined for a late quarterly report and failure to comply.
