Analysis: Belvidere pays $3.69 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Belvidere Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.2 percent of the $1,380,290 the Belvidere Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.69 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Belvidere contributed $1,079,608 to the fund, which saw a $66,778 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $291,901, or 21.1 percent, in 2016. Another $8,781 came from other unspecified sources.
