The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) has announced the addition of 18 more professions available for licensure. This development is part of the department's new system, CORE (Comprehensive Online Regulatory Environment), which aims to streamline licensing processes.

The CORE system, which completed its first phase in October 2024, is set to have six phases in total. The full implementation is expected by August 2026. The upcoming phases will include:

- Phase 3: Full regulatory transition for DPR, covering all application types, enforcement integration, and data migration of legacy licenses.

- Phase 4: Full regulatory transition for the Division of Real Estate.

- Phase 5: Full regulatory transition for the Division of Banking.

- Phase 6: Full regulatory transition for the Division of Financial Institutions.

Phase 2 is scheduled to be completed in the coming weeks. It focuses on adding all remaining Division of Professional Regulation professions that previously relied on manual or paper processes, with healthcare professions prioritized. This phase will initially be available only for new applications. All initial professional license applications are now accessible through CORE.

IDFPR assures that updates will be provided as each part of the implementation progresses. All application methods and license types can be found on the CORE website.
