Report: Hononegah spent $12,017 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Hononegah Community High School District 207 is up 14 percent from five years ago, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Winnebago County school district spent $10,514 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,017 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2142 to 2078.

Hononegah's spending in 2016-17 was 7 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
