Report: Rockton spent $8,138 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Rockton School District 140 is down 13 percent from five years ago, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Winnebago County school district spent $9,328 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,138 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1525 to 1534.

Rockton's spending in 2016-17 was 37 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
