Report: Durand spent $14,789 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Durand Community Unit School District 322 is up 21 percent from five years ago, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Winnebago County school district spent $12,174 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $14,789 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 640 to 560.

Durand's spending in 2016-17 was 14 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
