Illinois State House District 67 issued the following announcement on Sept. 27
This morning I attended a press conference with Rock Valley College, who was awarded the Workforce Equity Initiative Grant that was provided by the Illinois Black Caucus.
This grant will provide apprenticeship wages to folks in our community while they are being certified for careers in the skills gaps/ workforce shortages in our region. This grant was $20 million for the black community and our community college— Rock Valley— is receiving $1.5 million. I am proud to fight for this money on RVC’s behalf and look forward to working with them to ensure this money has maximum impact on our community and puts black people into head of household careers that changes their family.
