City of Carlyle Finance Committee and City Council met December 14

City of Carlyle Finance Committee and City Council met Dec. 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee and the council:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Don Perez at 6:45 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. Committee members present included Don Perez, John Hodapp, and Kent Newkirk. Others present included Dave Miller, Joe Behrman, Mark Pingsterhaus, Shannon Petrea, Scott Diekemper, Jeremy Weh, Mike Jansen, Rita Jurgensmeyer, Mayor Judy Smith, Andy Brackett, and Martha Reinkensmeyer.

Approval of Minutes

After revieing the minutes from the November 23, 2020 meeting, Kent Newkirk made a motion to approve the minutes. John Hodapp seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

Approval of Claims

After reviewing the claims, John Hodapp made a motion to approve them. Kent Newkirk seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

Tax Levy Ordinance

Andy stated that the proposed tax levy had been approved at a previous Finance meeting. John Hodapp then made a motion to recommend the tax levy ordinance to Council. Kent Newkirk seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

Small Business Economic Support Program

Andy stated that businesses can turn in applications for the Small Business Economic Support Program until close of business Thursday. He added that he would like to have a Finance Committee one day next week to review applications. No motions were made.

There was no old business.

New Business

There was no new business.

Any Other Comments

There were no any other comments.

Public Comments

There were no public comments.

Executive Session

The Committee did not enter executive session so there were no executive session items on which to vote.

Adjournment

With no further business to discuss, Kent Newkirk made a motion to adjourn. John Hodapp seconded the motion. Finding all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
