Rep. Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) thanked his constituents via social media for attending his "Coffee and Conversation" events.
"Enjoyed coffee and conversation with folks in Maple Park this morning!," Keicher said in a recent Facebook post. "Thank you to everyone who attended one of my recent coffees with Sen. Dave Syverson over the last couple weeks in Sycamore, Hampshire, and Big Rock! We appreciate all of your feedback and the time you took out of your day to make your voice heard."
The two legislators have held three Coffee and Conversation events throughout the district in April and May, a DeKalb Times report said. The events were free and offered constituents an opportunity to have their voices heard and connect with the people who represent them in the General Assembly.
A bill introduced by Keicher to require local taxing bodies to review and report on their efficiency every 10 years and consider whether consolidating operations with another unit of government would achieve greater accountability and cost savings to taxpayers was approved by the General Assembly in March and sent to Gov. JB Pritzker in early April for his signature, a recent news release from Keicher's office said.
The Coffee and Conversation events with Syverson weren't the only collaborations Keicher has been involved in.
As recently as last week, Keicher held a job fair with Rep. Tom Demmer in Sycamore, a separate release from Keicher's office said.
