Incumbent Illinois State Sen. Dave Syverson recently received the Chicago Tribune's official endorsement for the June 28 primary election race for Illinois Senate District 35.

"Syverson, who comes with rich experience, especially in understanding the needs of the industrial sector long important to Rockford, clearly is the better choice for the district," according to a June 16 editorial by The Chicago Tribune. "Since he long has represented districts on the edge of the state, he’s especially shrewd when it comes to ensuring that Illinois remains competitive with its Midwestern neighbors. And he told us that the issues surrounding inflation are providing 'common ground' for all Americans seeking change. 'As Reagan said,' Syverson noted, 'let’s work together on the things in which we all can believe.' Amen. Syverson has our endorsement."

"I am honored to be endorsed by the Chicago Tribune," Syverson said in response to the Tribune's endorsement. "They see firsthand the work I do in fighting for improving our jobs climate, supporting law enforcement in every way, and endlessly seeking to get government to live within its means."

Syverson has also been endorsed by many other organizations and groups in Illinois including pro-business, pro-life, pro-police and firefighter, pro-gun and many other local organizations and groups.

Syverson is running for Senate in the newly drawn 35th District against Eli Nicolosi, according to Rockford Register Star

The 35th Senate District includes Winnebago, Boone, DeKalb, Kane and McHenry counties.
