Village of Rockton Board of Trustees Aug. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. 

Present: Mayor Peterson, Mr. Danielson, Mrs. Honkamp, Ms. May, Mr. Seever,Mr. York and Atty. Szeto 

Staff present: Chief Hollinger and Dan Barber 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES 

Mr. Danielson made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the July 19, 2022 Village Board  meeting. Second by Mr. Seever. Motion approved, 5-0. Motion to approve the minutes made by Ms. May.  Second by Mr. Seever. Motion approved, 5-0.  

AMENDMENTS TO THE AGENDA 

None. 

PUBLIC COMMENT 

None.  

MAYOR PETERSON 

Mayor Peterson asked for a motion for approval of Amanda McMahon to the Police Pension Board. Motion  made by Mr. York, second by Ms. Honkamp. Motion approved, 5-0. 

VILLAGE ATTORNEY 

None. 

ZONING 

None. 

PUBLIC SAFETY AND LEGAL – MR. YORK 

Mr. York gave a summary of the police department’s activity.  

Mr. York made a motion to approve Resolution 2022-122: Authorizing a Service Agreement with Flock Group,  Inc. Second by Ms. May. Motion approved, 5-0. Mr. York then made a motion to approve the purchase  requisitions for Enterprise Fleet Management for 3 police vehicles (2022 Dodge Durango - $37,824.90, 2022  Chevrolet Colorado - $21,000, 2022 Dodge Charger - $22,300.45) for a Total Cost of $81,125.35. Second by  Mr. Danielson. Motion approved, 5-0.  

ADMINISTRATION – MR. BAUMGARTNER 

With Mr. Baumgartner absent, Mr. Danielson made a motion to approve Ordinance 2022-19 Amending Video  Gaming Terminal Fees. Second by Ms. May. Motion approved, 5-0. 

BUDGET & WATER, SEWER, AND GARBAGE – MR. FRIDLY 

Ms. May made a motion to approve the purchase requisition for Gasvoda & Associates for 2 slide gates for the  sewer plant in the amount of $16,576. Second by Mr. Seever. Motion approved, 5-0.  

Ms. May then made a motion to approve Ord. 2022-20 Amending Section 92.027 of the Village Code  Regarding Garbage. Second by Mr. Seever. Mayor Peterson stated this is the most embarrassing ordinance the  Village has had to pass, requiring people to put the lids on their garbage cans. Motion approved, 5-0. 

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – MR. DANIELSON 

None. 

BUILDINGS AND PARKS – MRS. HONKAMP 

 Ms. Honkamp made a motion to approve the Rockton Police Association’s “Blues & BBQ” event on Sept. 4, 2022. Second by Mr. Danielson. Motion approved, 5-0. Ms. Honkamp then made a motion to approve the  granting of easements for Rock Energy near the boat dock and athletic complex. Second by Ms. May. Mr.  Barber explained Rock Energy’s need for the easements. Motion approved, 5-0. 

STREETS AND WALKS – MR. SEEVER 

None.  

EXECUTIVE SESSION 

None. 

ACTION ON ITEMS ARISING OUT OF EXECUTIVE SESSION 

None.

NEW BUSINESS 

None. 

PAYMENT OF BILLS 

Motion by Mr. York, second by Mr. Danielson, to pay bills in the amount of $239,553.63. Motion approved, 5-0. 

ADJOURN 

Hearing no further business, motion by Mr. York, second by Mr. Danielson, to adjourn at 7:16 pm. Motion  approved, 5-0.
