Q3 2021 Recap: 7 parolees from Winnebago County convicted of crimes against justice set for release

There were seven offenders convicted of crimes against justice living in Winnebago County released on parole during the third quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Rockford Sun.

The data shows all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 32. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 42-year-old man sentenced in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Charles A. Cunningham. He was convicted in 2019 when he was 39 years old. He is now 42.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
