Q3 2021 Recap: 3 parolees from Winnebago County convicted of homicide set for release

There were three offenders convicted of homicide living in Winnebago County released on parole during the third quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Rockford Sun.

The data shows all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for homicide was 27. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 42-year-old man sentenced in 2004.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Tremaine Kimbrough. He was convicted in 2004 when he was 23 years old. He is now 42.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of homicide were paroled during the third quarter of 2021 in each Illinois county.
