Q2 2022 Recap: 26 parolees from Winnebago County convicted of crimes against persons set for release

There were 26 offenders convicted of crimes against persons living in Winnebago County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Rockford Sun.

The data shows 24 men and two women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons was 34. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2019, and the oldest was a 62-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Lamar Bell. He was convicted in 2013 when he was 23 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
