An “End of Session Wrap Up Town Hall” hosted by Illinois State Rep. Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) and State Rep. Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) is set for Tuesday, May 30, in Genoa.

The free session, to take place as the spring legislative session concludes, is scheduled for 5 to 6 p.m. at Genoa City Hall, 333 E. First St., a release from Keicher said.  Major legislature issues will be discussed, and there will be an opportunity for the public’s input as well.

“Like every session, we have seen some good things and some frustrating things happen,” Keicher said in the release. “Ensuring you, the residents we serve, are fully informed is always my top priority, and I look forward to this opportunity to discuss the major issues from this session with you.”

Keicher and Illinois State Rep. Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford) held a previous event with the public on May 22.

“Thank you to the Sun City Huntley Civic Committee for hosting myself and Rep. Joe Sosnowski for a presentation and Q&A on the spring legislative session with community residents yesterday,” Keicher said on Facebook.

“Don't forget that House Minority Leader Tony McCombie will be joining me for a session wrap up town hall in Genoa on May 30," he said.

In other happenings, a free shred event and food drive hosted by Keicher, State Rep. Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva), State Sen. Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) and State Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Cherry Valley) will take place from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at the Town & Country Public Library, Elburn, Keicher said in another release.

A shred truck will be at the library at 320 E. North St. where documents will be accepted. Non-perishable food collected at the event will be given to the Elburn Food Pantry.

Keicher has been representing Illinois’ 70th District since July 2018, his biography said. His relatives arrived in the DeKalb and Kane County area in the early 1900s.
