State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Cherry Valley) has been honored as a “Champion of Manufacturing” in the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association’s (IMA) 2024 Legislative Report Card, which highlights lawmakers who consistently support Illinois’ manufacturing industry.

“Illinois manufacturers appreciate Senator Syverson, who has a strong record of supporting policies vital to advancing the industry and growing our economy,” said Donovan Griffith, IMA VP of Government Affairs. “We’re proud to count on Senator Syverson as a member of the manufacturing majority in the Illinois General Assembly and look forward to continued partnership.”

The IMA’s Report Card rates lawmakers based on their voting record on key bills that impact the state’s manufacturing sector. It showcases where lawmakers stand relative to their support of Illinois’ manufacturing economy and the jobs it creates.

“A ‘Champion of Manufacturing’ Award is based on leadership in supporting legislation and ideas designed to strengthen Illinois’ jobs climate, which in turn helps all Illinois residents,” said Senator Syverson. “For the last 100 years, Illinois has had a strong foundation in manufacturing and technology. If our state wants a healthy economy, protecting and improving manufacturing companies – and the jobs they have provided – must continue to be front and center.”

Senator Syverson demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting policies that benefit manufacturers and the broader business community in Illinois. As the manufacturing sector employs more than 600,000 people in the state, ensuring that manufacturers have a strong voice in Springfield helps safeguard a cornerstone of Illinois’ economy and a major jobs creator in the state.
