City of Carlyle Finance Committee met Nov. 12.

Call to Order/Roll Call
The Finance Committee meeting was called to order by Finance Committee Chairman Jeremy Weh on November 12, 2024, at 6:45 p.m. at the Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, Illinois 62231. Committee members present were Finance Committee Chairman Jeremy Weh, Aldermen John Hodapp, and Jeff Taylor. Others present were Mayor Judy Smith, City Administrator Brad Myers, Aldermen Mike Jansen, Scott Diekemper, Bruce Hilmes, Jim McClaren, Tammy Peters, and City Clerk Rita Jurgensmeyer.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Alderman John Hodapp and seconded by Alderman Jeff Taylor to approve the minutes from the October 28, 2024, meeting. The motion was approved by voice vote.
Approval of Claims
Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to approve the claims. Alderman Jeff Taylor seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.
ICRMT Renewal
City Administrator Brad Myers explained the contract from ICRMT for the city’s risk management insurance in the amount of $285,568.00. He said it is the same coverage as they had in the past with adding a new building and new equipment. He said that is an 8% increase from last year.
Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to accept and take to council the contract from ICRMT in the amount of $285,568.00. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeff Taylor, and it was approved by voice vote.
Approve King Kat Sponsorship Agreement
City Administrator Brad Myers explained the sponsorship agreement for the King Kat fishing tournament. He said they go in half with Clinton County. They are also running this through downstate Illinois with a 20% reduction because they can run their advertising in it. The cost is $3,500.00 with a deposit of $700.00 due by January 1, 2025. Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to approve the sponsorship agreement with King Kat and send it to council. Alderman Jeff Taylor seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Any Other Comments
City Administrator Brad Myers said that the six-month revenue/expense report was out, and the city is doing very well. The revenue is coming in at 52 percent and the expenses are coming in at 37.9 percent.

At 6:50 p.m. a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman John Hodapp. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeff Taylor and was approved by voice vote.
