A Disaster Recovery Center has been established in Winnebago County to assist residents affected by the severe weather from July 13 to 16, 2024. The center is a collaborative effort involving specialists from FEMA, the state of Illinois, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. These specialists are available to help survivors apply for federal disaster assistance, upload necessary documents, answer questions in person, and provide access to additional support services. They also offer guidance on making properties more resistant to future disasters.
