Rockford Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 15.
BREAKING NEWS: RPD won yesterday’s #BattleoftheBells! With your help, we raised nearly $1,300 during the four hours we rang for the red kettle! Combined with Rockford Fire Department, we collected nearly $2,300! It was a great competition, but above all, the winner was the Salvation Army. Thanks to everyone who came out and donated!
