Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.
The Mercyhealth Development Foundation is pleased to announce it will host a virtual 5K run/walk for the month of October.
How it works: Walkers and/or runners choose a starting line. May use a treadmill, neighborhood sidewalk or a park trail. Encourage friends and family to join you on “race day.” Track mileage (3.1 miles), time, and the date of race completion and submit between October 1-31 to Jennifer Johns at jjohns@mhemail.org.
Donations are made to the House of Mercy Homeless Center in Janesville and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Javon Bea Hospital-Riverside in Rockford. Race participants who graciously give $25 or more receive a special gift as a token of our gratitude.
