City of Carlyle Economic Development Committee met Oct. 6.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
The meeting was called to order by Shannon Petrea at 6 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 850 Franklin Street. Board members present included Shannon Petrea, Andy Zieren, Marland Tucker, Greg Faupel, Karla Caplinger, and Jeff Taylor. Jennifer Gazda, Rachel Schumacher, and Ed Carroll were absent. Others present included Mark Yingling, Mayor Judy Smith, Andy Brackett, and Martha Reinkensmeyer.
After reviewing the minutes from the September 16, 2020 meeting, Greg Faupel made a motion to approve the minutes. Jeff Taylor seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.
The first item on the agenda was the Façade Improvement Grant application for 960 Fairfax Street. Mark Yingling is asking for $4,000 for exterior improvements to the front of his property. After reviewing the application, Jeff Taylor made a motion to approve the full $4,000 for the Façade Improvement Grant application. Greg Faupel seconded the motion. After a voce vote, all were found in favor.
The second item on the agenda was old business. Greg stated that he is still working on contacting IDOT about where it would allow an electronic sign to be placed.
There was no new business.
There were no any other comments.
There were no public comments.
The Board did not enter executive session so there were no executive session items on which to vote.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 6:08 p.m.
