City of Carlyle Street and Alley Committee and City Council met Oct. 26.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee and the council:

The meeting was called to order by Chairman John Hodapp at 5 p.m. at Case Halstead Library. Committee members present included John Hodapp and Logan Speiser. Scott Diekemper was absent. Others present included Jeremy Devar of HMG, Scott Rakers of HMG, Joe Behrman, Andy Brackett, and Martha Reinkensmeyer.

After reviewing the minutes from September 25, 2020 Logan Speiser made a motion to approve the minutes. John Hodapp seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

The first item on the agenda was the Krebs Hill resurfacing project. Scott Rakers stated that Byrne and Jones submitted an application for payment on the project. The company requested approximately $452,000. Through discussion with HMG, the request has been reduced to approximately $419,000. HMG believes that approximately $412,000 is an amount that is fair and reasonable for the City to pay for the project. Scott asked the Committee if it would like him to continue discussions with Byrne and Jones to get to the lower amount. The Committee agreed that they would like Scott to keep trying to get the amount closer to approximately $412,000.

There was no old business.

The third item on the agenda was new business. Andy stated that he spoke with someone from IDOT who requested a copy of the City’s ADA transition plan for sidewalks. IDOT plans on making changes to some of the crosswalks on US 50 in Carlyle. The Committee reviewed the plans provided by IDOT and held a brief discussion on the proposed crosswalk changes.

There were no any other comments.

There were no public comments.

The Committee did not enter executive session so there were no executive session items on which to vote.

With no further business to discuss, Logan Speiser made a motion to adjourn. John Hodapp seconded the motion. Finding all in favor the meeting was adjourned at 5:22 p.m.
