Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Jan. 20.
Last month, the Mercyhealth Development Foundation hosted a successful Meals on Wheels drive-thru fundraising event, raising $1,280 in just one day. Guests stopped by the drive-thru event to drop off a donation to support this important program. Thanks to our generous donors, the day’s donations will provide 30 local residents with one hot, nutritious meal, daily for about two weeks.
Mercyhealth’s Meals On Wheels provides affordable meals for the elderly or disabled in their homes. The meals are made fresh in the cafeteria at Mercyhealth Hospital and Medical Center–Harvard. The program is overseen by Mercyhealth hospital dietary staff to ensure meals are nutritional and varied. Volunteers deliver these meals to people in the Mercyhealth neighborhood.
