MERCY ROCKFORD HEALTH SYSTEM: Mercyhealth Welcomes Gastroenterologist in Rockford

Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on Feb. 23.

Mercyhealth is pleased to welcome Dr. Naser Khan to the physician staff of Mercyhealth Physician Clinic–Riverside and Rockton, Rockford.

Dr. Khan’s philosophy of practicing medicine and reasoning is best echoed by the words of Albert Einstein: ‘A life lived in the service to others is worth living.’ His sole purpose of being a physician is to serve his patients and be available to their needs. He believes in being a careful listener and individualizing care to his patients.

Dr. Khan’s special interests include:

  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography
  • Endoscopic ultrasound
  • Advanced polyp removal
  • Endoscopic mucosal resection
  • Endoscopic submucosal dissection
  • Endoscopic suturing
  • Transgastric pancreatic pseudocyst drainage and necrosectomy
  • Health care economics and improving access to care
After earning his medical degree at Deccan College of Medical Sciences, India, Dr. Khan served his residency at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL. He completed a fellowship in Advanced Pancreatico-biliary Endoscopy at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI, and A Gastroenterology fellowship at the Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL. Dr. Khan is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with added certification in Gastroenterology.
