City of Rockford issued the following announcement on Feb. 28.
In February of 2019, Casey Gwinn, President and CEO of the Alliance for HOPE International and visionary behind the Family Justice Center movement, was in Rockford to help begin the strategic planning process for a local center to provide services to victims of inter-personal violence.
17 months later, we opened our Family Peace Center at 315 North Main Street. After being open only seven months, our center has already helped 200 survivors! With 83% of those survivors having children, we are taking important steps towards interrupting the cycle of violence.
