Mercy Rockford Health System issued the following announcement on May 18.

Mercyhealth Development Foundation announces its annual Golf Play Day was a success, thanks to the support of golfers, volunteers and numerous corporate sponsors led by Rohlik Financial Group and Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Services, Inc.

The Golf Play Day was held Friday, May 14 at the Beloit Club and attracted 112 Mercyhealth Foundation supporters who hit the links for a good cause. The event raised more than $22,000 for the Mercyhealth Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Scholarship Fund, which was established in honor of Dr. Michael Kellum, a longtime emergency medical physician and EMS medical director at Mercyhealth. Dr. Kellum was instrumental in EMS services with his research and devotion to increasing cardiac arrest survival rates.

Play Day participants enjoyed a beautiful day of festivities including breakfast, 18 holes of best-ball play with fun contests throughout the course, followed by lunch and an awards presentation. The foursome of Joel Bailey, Bruce Bergum, Dr. Ed Miller and Dr. Pat Sitorius won the prize for the lowest golf score of the day.
