City of Carlyle Employee Concerns Committee Met May 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Shannon Petrea at 4:30 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. Committee members present included Shannon Petrea, Kent Newkirk, and Scott Diekemper. Others present included Mayor Judy Smith, Brandon Pieron, Andy Wennerstrom, Andy Brackett, and Martha Reinkensmeyer.

Approval of Minutes

After reviewing the minutes from the April 26, 2021 meeting, Kent Newkirk made a motion to approve the minutes. Scott Diekemper seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

Interviews for MWII and Water Tech/Relief Operator

Kent Newkirk made a motion to enter executive session to conduct the interviews. Scott Diekemper seconded the motion. With all in favor, the Committee entered executive session at 4:30 p.m.

Any Other Comments

There were no any other comments.

Public Comments

There were no public comments.

Vote on Executive Session Items

The Committee entered regular session at 7:57 p.m. Shannon Petrea made a motion to recommend that Council hire Matthew Potts for MWII pending a criminal background check and drug screening. Kent Newkirk seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor. Shannon Petrea made a motion to recommend that Council move Steve Kerwin to Water Tech/Relief Operator pending clarification on required testing for the position. Kent Newkirk seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

Adjournment

With no further business to discuss, Kent Newkirk made a motion to adjourn. Scott Diekemper seconded the motion. Finding all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
