City of Carlyle Finance Committee met Sept. 23.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by John Hodapp on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 6:45 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. Committee members present included John Hodapp and Jeff Taylor. Chairman Jeremy Weh was absent. Others present were Tanner Speiser, Mike Jansen, Scott Diekemper, Bruce Hilmes, Jim McClaren, Chief Mark Pingsterhaus, Brandon Pieron, Andy Wennerstrom, Mayor Judy Smith, Brad Myers, and Rita Jurgensmeyer.

Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Alderman Jeff Taylor and seconded by Alderman John Hodapp to approve the minutes from the September 9, 2024, meeting. The motion was approved by voice vote.

Approval of Claims

Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to approve the claims. Alderman Jeff Taylor seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Purchase of New Truck – Wastewater/Sewer Department

City Administrator Brad Myers said that he and Brandon Pieron went to K & J Chevrolet in Carlyle and Jansen Chevrolet in Germantown to purchase a new truck for the water department. They had the exact same truck. K & J Chevrolet gave them a price of $60,575.00. Jansen Chevrolet gave them a price of $60,558.00. He felt that it would be best to purchase in Carlyle. Alderman Jeff Taylor made a motion to send to the city council the purchase of a truck from K & J Chevrolet in the amount of $60,575.00. Alderman John Hodapp seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

At 6:49 p.m. a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman John Hodapp. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeff Taylor and was approved by voice vote.
