City of Rockford Community Action Agency Executive Committee met Jan. 21.

A. Proposed 2025 Community Action Agency Executive Committee Schedule 1. The Executive Committee meets every month. That tentative schedule would be: 1/21, 2/18, 3/18, 4/15, 5/20, 6/17, 7/15, 8/19, 9/16, 10/21, 11/18, 12/16.
2. Motion to Approve the 2025 Community Action Agency Executive Committee Schedule.
i. Motion by Karen Hoffman. Second by Jeremiah Griffin.
ii. All approved. Motion carries.
B. Owen Carter: We have some hiccups with the Weatherization program and RHA.
1. Karen Hoffman: What is RHA’s role with weatherization?
i. Owen Carter: They have an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Rockford to perform weatherization measures on their scattered sites units utilizing their contractor.
C. Faniqua Hughes: The Change of Scope for Head Start will be read in tonight (1/21) at the City Council Meeting. A continuation grant was submitted December 31, 2024. Current staff will continue to stay on. The vacant positions being eliminated will create a cost savings.
D. Faniqua Hughes: We also need more Policy Council Members for Head Start. 1. Approval of Minutes from the Meeting held on December 3, 2024

A. Karen Hoffman: In my neighborhood, there are some homes with siding deterioration. She needs new windows and doors. I told her to apply for weatherization. I also told her to apply with Habitat for Humanity. Where should she call?
1. Owen Carter: That resident would want to start with Community & Economic Development’s Homeowner Repair Programs. They could
also connect her with other potential resources. Weatherization cannot do windows, doors, or anything with the facade. We could do air sealing measures such as seal the windows but we cannot replace the doors or windows themselves.
