City of Carlyle Police Committee met Jan. 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bruce Hilmes on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 6:15 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street. Committee members present included Bruce Hilmes and Jeremy Weh. Scott Diekemper was absent. Others present included Jim McClaren, Mike Jansen, Brad Myers, Chief Mark Pingsterhaus, Mayor Judy Smith, and Martha Reinkensmeyer. 

Approval of Minutes

After reviewing the minutes from the December 23, 2024, meeting, Jeremy Weh made a motion to approve the minutes. Scott Diekemper seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor. 

Approval to Go Out for Bid for Police Department Addition

Chief Pingsterhaus stated that a $20,000 grant was received for building a structure. He would like to add a Sally Port onto the existing building. He wants to build a two-car garage onto the south end of the structure. It would be 50 feet wide and 30 feet long. Chief Pingsterhaus received a bid from Boatright Built for $109,300.00. The bid did not include electricity. He asked if the Electric Department could do the wiring. It was the consensus of those present that would not be an issue. After further discussion, Bruce Hilmes made a motion to send the approval to get bids for the addition to the Finance Committee. Jeremy Weh seconded the motion. Following a voice vote, all were found in favor.

Any Other Comments

Chief Pingsterhaus gave an update on the license plate reading cameras. 

Public Comments

There were no public comments. 

Executive Session

The committee did not enter executive session. 

Adjournment

With no further discussion, Bruce Hilmes made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jeremy Weh seconded the motion. Finding all in favor, the meeting adjourned at 6:26 p.m.
