The calls in Belvidere included 62 fires - 31 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 21 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $623,525 in fire loss - or about $10,057 per fire.
The department also received 221 false calls, including seven malicious calls and 214 other false calls.
One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.
The Belvidere Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 27 active employees and 31 retired or inactive employees, was $1,454,186 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $23,455 for every fire in 2016.
