Analysis: Rockford pays $3.38 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Rockford Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.2 percent of the $10,153,877 the Rockford Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.38 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Rockford Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Rockford contributed $7,838,429 to the fund, which saw a $1,761,062 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $2,315,398, or 22.8 percent, in 2016. Another $50 came from other unspecified sources.
