Police have charged the man accused of scrawling graffiti across the Winnebago County GOP headquarters with attempted kidnapping.
According to a story on rrstar.com, an unnamed woman accused 42-year-old Timothy A. Damm of allegedly grabbing her underage son by the arm as he tried to get him to follow him to a nearby pond. The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. when the boy was at the Mobil station at 321 N. Alpine Road.
Officers said they found Damm in Mamma Mia’s restaurant, where he refused to be questioned and curled up into a fetal position when they tried to escort him from the premises.

Damm, who faces resisting arrest charges in this latest case, was charged recently with writing the words “rape” and “shame” on the Winnebago County Republican Headquarters building façade.
The rrstar.com website reported on Thursday, Oct. 11, Damm missed his arraignment, because he was undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Swedish American Hospital.
The rrstar.com story said the vandalism was apparently provoked by the controversy surrounding SCOTUS Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the high court.
