Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Boone County?

There were 12 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Boone County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Rockford Sun.

The data shows that nine men and three women were released in Boone County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 38. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2019, and the oldest was a 62-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jose Martinez. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2016 when he was 35 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
