On Monday, State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Cherry Valley) and fellow Republican lawmakers hosted a Senior Fair at DeKalb High School. The event was organized in collaboration with Senator Li Arellano Jr, Senator Sue Rezin, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie, Representative Bradley Fritts, and Representative Jeff Keicher.
"Our seniors have given so much to their families, their communities, and this state. Events like this are one small way we can give back and make sure they have access to the resources they need," said Sen. Syverson.
Seniors attending the fair were able to connect with over 60 local vendors offering information and services related to healthcare, hospice care, rehabilitation, volunteer opportunities, and more. Additionally, free health screenings such as vaccinations, blood pressure checks, and hearing exams were available.
The event attracted more than 200 attendees. Sen. Syverson expressed his commitment to advocating for policies and programs that support the health, independence, and well-being of Illinois seniors.
