STATELINE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Nominate a Land Conservation Champion!

Awardceremony

Stateline Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.

Natural Land Institute (NLI) is looking for land conservation champions to be nominated for the George and Barbara Fell Award. The land conservation award recognizes accomplishments that have significantly advanced natural area preservation, protection, management and restoration in northern Illinois. A nominee may include someone who has worked for many years in natural resources management, education, journalism, law, or science related to the protection, stewardship or restoration of natural areas, and inspired an understanding of natural diversity. Volunteers may be considered for this award for their commitment, efforts and leadership in land protection, stewardship and restoration.

The award is named for the founder of NLI, George B. Fell, and his wife, Barbara. The Fells dedicated their lives to protecting Illinois’ natural heritage so rare and endangered plant and animal species would be here for future generations.

Nominations for the George and Barbara Fell Award will be accepted through Feb. 12, 2021 and may be submitted by email to info@naturalland.org or by mail to Natural Land Institute at 320 S. Third St., Rockford, IL 61104.

For additional details about the nominating guidelines, criteria, a list of past recipients, and to download the form visit: https://www.naturalland.org/gb-fell-award/ or call the NLI office at 815/964-6666 for more information and to request the nomination form.
