City of Carlyle Finance Committee met June 26,

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jeremy Weh on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 6:45 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. Committee members present included Jeremy Weh, John Hodapp, and Jeff Taylor. Others present included Tammy Peters, Jim McClaren, Scott Diekemper, Bruce Hilmes, Mike Jansen, Kayla Heimann, Rita Jurgensmeyer, Chief Mark Pingsterhaus, Mayor Judy Smith, Brad Myers, and Martha Reinkensmeyer. 

Approval of Minutes

After reviewing the minutes of the June 12, 2023, meeting, John Hodapp made a motion to approve the minutes. Jeff Taylor seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor. 

Approval of Claims

After reviewing the claims, John Hodapp made a motion to approve them. Jeff Taylor seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor. 

Unfinished Business

There was no unfinished business. 

New Business

Kayla Heimann explained to the Committee the children’s entertainment she has been researching for the street fair. There will not be any carnival rides, but she has been looking at several other options. She has been looking at inflatables, a rock wall, a zip line, trampolines, magic shows, circuses, and a foam machine. She is also trying to set up a s three on three basketball tournament. For adults there will be a bags tournament, a poker tournament, and bands. There will also be a pet parade. She asked the Committee for a dollar amount on what she may spend. Brad stated that he can find $20,000 to put towards the street fair.

The Committee did not enter executive session. 

Adjournment

With no further business to discuss, John Hodapp made a motion to adjourn. Jeff Taylor seconded the motion. Finding all in favor, the meeting adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
