City of Carlyle Finance Committee met Aug. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the Committee:

Call to Order/Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jeremy Weh on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 6:45 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street, Carlyle, IL 62231. Committee members present included Jeremy Weh and John Hodapp. Jeff Taylor was absent. Others present included Rebecca Sponslor, Chief Mark Pingsterhaus, Bruce Hilmes, Scott Diekemper, Mike Jansen, Jim McClaren, Tammy Peters, Brad Myers, Mayor Judy Smith, and Rita Jurgensmeyer.

Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Alderman John Hodapp and seconded by Alderman Jeremy Weh to approve the minutes from the August 14, 2023, minutes. The motion was approved by voice vote.

Approval of Claims

Alderman Jeremy Weh made a motion to approve the claims. Alderman John Hodapp seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Approve Computer Quote from CDS - Ten New Systems

City Administrator Brad Myers explained the quote from CDS for ten new computer systems. He said they would install five or six in City Hall and the others would go to the Electric Department, Water Department, and the Street Department. Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to approve and send to the council the quote from CDS for ten new computer systems at the cost of $13,178.69. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeremy Weh and it was approved by voice vote.

Approve Purchase of Machine Laser Receiver for All Department Use

City Administrator Brad Myers explained the purchase of a machine laser receiver. This could be used by all the departments. Alderman Jeremy Weh made a motion to purchase the machine laser receiver at a cost of $2,471.55 and to send it to council. Alderman John Hodapp seconded the motion, and it was approved by voice vote.

Approve Ordinance Approving Sale of Surplus Property

City Administrator Brad Myers explained the ordinance approving sale of surplus property. When the Electric Department upgraded their generators they had surplus equipment that is of no use to the Electric Department. They have someone interested in purchasing them. Alderman John Hodapp made a motion to approve and take to the council the ordinance approving the sale of surplus property. Alderman Jeremy Weh seconded the motion, and it approved by voice vote.

Adjournment

At 6:51 p.m. a motion to adjourn was made by Alderman John Hodapp. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeremy Weh and was approved by voice vote.
